Ryan Foong

Ryan Foong is an experienced engineering leader with over a decade in the oil and gas industry, specializing in downhole completion tools. Currently the Technical & Engineering Director at Enecal, part of SPT Energy Group, he leads innovation and product development for novel completion technologies. Ryan began his career at Halliburton, where he contributed to major tool designs and holds several patents in downhole tool mechanisms. He has since held progressive leadership roles, building and managing engineering teams, expanding product lines, and driving R&D investments. His work has spanned Asia, the UK, and the US. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from the National University of Singapore and was an ASEAN scholarship recipient. His technical contributions include multiple international patents and publications in tool design and friction-release systems, reflecting a strong focus on innovation, performance, and reliability in well completion solutions.
