Syed Saggaf Syed Ahmad
President of the Malaysian Oil, Gas & Energy Services Council (MOGSC)
Syed Saggaf bin Syed Ahmad is the Chief Executive Officer of Shapadu Oil and Gas Division, overseeing the Group’s interests in the oil, gas, and energy sectors, including both upstream and downstream services as well as marine asset management. He also serves as the Executive Director of Shapadu CR Asia Sdn Bhd, specializing in downstream maintenance and turnaround projects. A graduate of Universiti Tenaga Nasional with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Hons), Syed Saggaf has over 20 years of experience in the industry. He has held key roles at Haven Engineering, Ramunia Fabricators, and Coral Intoil before joining Shapadu Group in 2010. Rising through the ranks, he became CEO in 2017, managing major contracts worth approximately RM 2 billion. Beyond his corporate leadership, Syed Saggaf is the President of the Malaysian Oil, Gas & Energy Services Council (MOGSC), actively engaging with industry stakeholders to foster a sustainable energy ecosystem in Malaysia. He also contributes to academia and professional networks as an Ambassador of UNITEN Alumni, Vice President of the Alumni Sains Muar Association, and a Board Member of the Study for Industrial Doctorate Program at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.
